AHEAD OF THE MANCHESTER DERBY: AGUERO MEETS BOLT

Ahead of the Manchester derby, most players in the separate camps will be mentally preparing themselves for one of the biggest games of the season.

Not Sergio Aguero, though. The Argentine caught up with multiple Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, to gain some valuable speed tips before Sunday's match at the Etihad stadium.

SUPER EAGLES TO STAY IN CALABAR FOR ETHIOPIA

News filtering in has it that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will prosecute the last
leg of the World Cup Qualifiers against the Walia Antelopes of Ethiopia

A statement credited to an NFF official reads...

"As far as the federation is concerned at this moment, there is no reason to change the venue," the official said. "If the NFF decides to bring the team to Abuja and anything goes wrong, people will say it is because the venue has changed.
"In any case, it will be the height of ingratitude to the government and people of Cross River State who took the team in and hosted them at a time when nobody else wanted to."
The official went on to add that the only way the match would move from Calabar, is if the players specifically request it.
"If the coach and players come out and say they want to play in Abuja, then the NFF would have no choice, but for now, the game will be in Calabar."

What do you think, is Calabar a fortress to the Eagles?

CHELSEA STUNNED AT HOME IN THEIR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OPENER.

Chelsea slumped to shock 2-1 home defeat to Basle. The defeat prompted unhappy Chelsea owner Abramovich to head straight down to the tunnel to see his players. The owner from the look on his face didn't look impressed with the way the match was prosecuted by his club.

Chelsea have now lost two games back to back; one to Everton at Goodison Park and a home lost to Basle in Champions League.

The effect or otherwise of that visit of the club owner will be seen in the days and weeks ahead.

See some of the pictures that captured the mood in Stamford Bridge during and after the game.
